Twilight Girls Night

So last Friday we had our Twilight day. Sara came down from Spokane (for Thanksgiving mainly) and Sara, Mom, Rebecca, and I had a girls day. First we all went to Olive Garden and then we went and got pedicures (mom was laughing so hard while getting hers it was hilarious!!!) (don’t worry Sara will be putting up a bunch of pictures from this day.) Then we went and saw the Twilight movie. In my completely honest opinion the movie was abhorrent. The editing, screenplay, and directing seemed to have been done by a child. If you had never read the books you would have no idea what was going on, in fact there was a couple of people behind me that had not read the book and when the movie ended they asked “what the crap?” they had no clue what was going on in the movie. The sad thing is that the book is written in a way that makes it easily become a screenplay but it seems who ever adapted it wanted to change it to how they wanted it to appear, even changing lines that where much better in the book. But the movie aside it was a fun day!

Halloween costume

Alright so this is not the best picture (it was taken early in the morning while I was getting ready for work), we were planing to take better pictures of my costume after work but being in a corset and wig for 8 hours I was done by the time I got home. The skirt fans out to an almost perfect circle. the shirt has embroidery on the sleeves that you can kind of see and also down the front of the shirt that is covered by the corset. the corset also has embroidery and bead work as well. I made the entire costume including the bead work and embroidery. It did not turn out as good as I would have liked but I started a little late in making it. the skirt is made with crinkle chiffon and red sparkle organza fabric and the top is a simple muslin, the corset is a black silk. (please ignore the messy kitchen!)

Sorry!

I know I am doing a terrible job at keeping up with my blog, I still have a bunch of Halloween pictures to put up and other activities but I yet to find the time. Even while I write this I am only able to because it is a slow day at work (at least for a few minutes) but I will be trying to get some things up if not later today then tomorrow. So please be patient with my non-existing blogging skills.

I Believe in the Curly Q Whimsy of Fate!

Life is not simply a vast conglomeration of coincidences but is something greater.

What would it be like to go back in time and to see yourself in the past, to see the things from your childhood, to experience again the things that are only found in your distant memories. What new things would you discover, what truths that you had not understood would come to light.

I watched a show tonight about a man who goes back in time, in this particular episode he sees his mother and helps her. He recalls a memory but didn't know the story behind the memory (his mother coming home crying) but now as an adult he saves his mothers life and realizes why she came home crying.

It gets complicated when you try to understand the vicissitudes of it all, but then again that is what makes it truly intriguing, the complexity of it all. But in a simpler question do we ever really understand the whole story or are we imprisoned by our own view.

Time

There are times when I dislike relativity. Yesterday at work time dragged on, each minute seemed to crawl excruciatingly by and yet to others the day seemed to speed by them with no hesitation. The principle of relativity in its perfect form each to his own internal time piece. There are instances when I wish that time was still Newtonian than Einsteinian, for with Newtonian time I would no longer have time slow or speed up but would just have the static continuation of a singular time. But alas time has been proven to be (at least at the moment, for who knows where the future might lead) Einstienian and because of that it is relative to each of us.

Amazing!

I stayed up late last night reading as I didn’t want to put down my book. I had not found much time to read because of my busy schedule so last night I found my opportunity to finish the book by Terry Brooks. The book, the story was amazing, but I would expect nothing less from Brooks. His stories gather you in and you become a part of it, each character means the world to you and you feel and understand all that they go through so that when one of them dies or is betrayed you feel it acutely. I am in awe of his ability to write and the talent that he is able to share with the world, I hope one day to have a fraction of that talent whether it is in my writing or some other aspect

pretty darn good!

So today is my day off of work and here is what I have done so far: I designed a shirt, made a pattern, and sewed it. (it looks pretty cool!) I then went and bought new tires for my car (front tires) and I had the back ones rotated (side). Oh yeah I had my oil changed this morning, I would have done it myself but I don’t have the jack that I need and it is pretty cold out. So then I went and bought a head light (mine has gone out) and instead of paying 50 bucks for some guy to put in an eight dollar part, I took the head lamp out (my model of car you have to take the whole head lamp assembly out) and I replaced the head light put it all back together and presto the head light works and I saved myself 42 dollars. I have also been doing laundry during this time. So it is only four thirty and I am almost done with all that I needed to do today and I still have a good part of the day to have fun! Isn’t life grand!

Inspiration

I have always enjoyed writing, even when I was much younger. I remember writing stories in fifth or sixth grade, I would involve my other classmates and weave a story that would include twists, turns, and surprises. I recall one story that I wrote including a tornado that ripped the school apart. My classmates enjoyed the stories, mostly because they all became a character and a star of a part of the story.
I still love writing and I am constantly coming up with new book ideas, sometimes the inspiration comes from a dream, a song, a game, or some other experience that I have. I am currently working on a book, one that I have been thinking about writing since I was 15 but didn’t actually start until last year. I have over two hundred and fifty pages and find that I am not even at the middle of the story yet. So many things in my mind, in my imagination that I want to say, my hope is that I will be able to finish this book by next year (if not sooner) and get it published. Of course this is my hope but even if I am unable to get it published it will be a great thing to finish it. And who knows, with all the stories that I have in my head perhaps this book will just be the first of a long line, but whether or not it is nice to write them down even if the only thing that will ever see them is the pages they are written on.
I try to find time to write but of late I am only able to catch a few moments here or there, hence the fact that I started the book last fall was able to write for about four months then life got crazy and I really didn’t write anything until this summer when I went to Finland. But now I am up and writing again and working on finding more time. As I am writing this a song just came on my Zune, it is actually the song that started me writing the book I am working on. It is Now Comes The Night by Rob Thomas, it is one of my favorite songs and a large part of the inspiration I found in writing my book. Music tends to be an inspiration to me for many things.

Terry Brooks

So I finally bought the new Terry Brooks book. I must admit to being a huge fan of his having read all of his books (about 28 books) and I am very excited to read this new one. Unfortunately I have not yet been able to find the time. I read the first chapter on a lunch break but after that my schedule has been a little crazy! All though I am a huge fan of Terry Brooks I will admit to not being a crazy fan of my favorite author like some people I know…hint, hint , Sara. ;o) I think that every one should find a favorite book/author/series or other reading aspect, for reading is a way to energize the mind and culture great imagination.

Some Pictures

So Sara has been telling me that I need to put pictures up on my blog. Since she already put up pictures of my trip to Finland I won’t add any more of those at least not for now. I recently cut my hair and so I thought I would put up some pictures of my new hair cut. They are not the best pictures (I will get better ones up when I have someone else to take them) but for now here is my new look.

Conference Rocked!!!

Alright, so I have not written in a little while but life has been a bit crazy. But now that I think about it when hasn’t life been crazy! I watched conference this weekend and it was amazing! I am extremely grateful that I have a knowledge of the gospel and that I have the opportunity to hear the servants of God speak. The messages that they gave where inspiring and what I needed to hear, it is amazing to me how much the Lord loves all of us. So things are going better at my new job, in that I am starting to feel more comfortable and more at home. I work with some really great people that help make the experience even superior.

A small intro

My sister suggested that I obtain a blog, I am unsure of her reasoning behind the suggestion but perhaps it is that I am not very superlative in my emails nor am I the best of conversationalists on the phone. Although I am lacking these qualities in my communication I am one who has much to say and find that I enjoy speaking through the written word; although typically the written word for me is by hand as I find it more personal, and in truth more me. I am one who loves history and substance of the past but also looks forward to the future and what it may convey. I am sure that as my sister reads this she is laughing at me and my “uniqueness” as she would call it. What can I say life for me is a conglomeration of many aspects and many experiences. I am an eclectic individual and I doubt that will ever change. Perhaps I will actually continue to write on this blog and perhaps I will dismiss it out of my memory, only time will tell but for now this will have to suffice.
